What essential bar equipment do i need may be your first question if you’re starting out as a bartender. Having the right tools is key to making great drinks efficiently. I have curated a list of all my favourites to help you get started at home. Here’s a quick rundown of the essential equipment you’ll need:
.Shaker (Boston or Cobbler) – Used to mix and chill cocktails by shaking ingredients with ice.
.Jigger – A double-sided measuring tool for precise pours (usually 1 oz / 0.5 oz or 25 ml / 15 ml).
.Bar Spoon – A long spoon for stirring cocktails and layering drinks.
.Strainer (Hawthorne or Julep) – Keeps ice and solids out when pouring shaken or stirred drinks.
5. Fine Strainer – For Straining drinks you don’t want any ice in.
.Muddler – For crushing herbs or fruit to release flavors.
.Citrus Juicer – Handheld or electric for fresh lime, lemon, or orange juice.
.Peeler/Channel Knife – Creates citrus twists or garnishes.
.Ice Bucket & Tongs – Keeps ice clean and easy to handle.
.Waiters friend – Essential for beers and wines.
.Cutting Board & Knife – For prepping garnishes like citrus wheels or herbs.
